Don Bosco, in the whole world number 14,476 and counted. They are present in all continents of the globe in 133 countries. Don Bosco is an International Organization dedicated to the service of children and youth, especially in the field of education founded in 1859. Don Bosco has consultancy status at the United Nations. Their works can be grouped into Regions, Provinces, and local Presences. There are 7 Regions containing 90 Provinces with works involving formation, oratories, youth centers, schools, residential centers, vocation orientation, parishes, social works, social communications, provincial services, etc. The Salesian Family consists of 33 different groups that have sprung up over the years that draw their inspiration from Don Bosco’s style and charism.

In 1906 the Don Bosco Society started working in India. Through its 3000 plus Schools, Colleges, Universities, Technical Schools and Youth Centers the Salesians of Don Bosco has a profound influence on young people irrespective of religious differences or social inequalities.
